Just as I thought, Not much to do with actually wanting to be a good writer. So the following conversation ensued.
TJ - Since you are so interested in improving your writing, you can change one of your electives for the creative writing class.
Al - Electives?
TJ - Yep. Chess or swimming.
Al - Uh, I want to keep my original schedule.
TJ - Ok. (evil mental laugh)
Velvet glove. Iron fist. Hee hee hee hee hee...

LOL. Kids are funny. My only one is 18 and in her first semester of college. She took some of the lazy gene from high school with her. SMH.
