Little A's first manicure.

Last week, Little A got into my finger nail polish and put some on her pointer finger. Since she's four years old, you can guess she did a sloppy job. I got out the nail polish remover and cleaned it off for her and painted it the right way. When I brought the brush to her finger tip, she extended all four fingers. I polished the other three with a very light coat of polish. She was dazzled and delighted, holding the color up to the light (it had a bit of shimmer). I don't expect to do this every day or every week or anything but it was fun.

If I have to tell one more person

to put that down, stop touching her, stop touching him, or leave that alone, I may not be held responsible for my actions. And it's still June. Smh.

Cilantro

Yesterday evening, I was so thankful to be cutting cilantro from my garden to use for dinner. It felt really good to be cutting, cleaning and serving something that I had put into the ground a few weeks ago. And it did not hurt that we did not have to pay for it beyond the one buck and change I had invested in seeds and soil. I've noticed the beginnings of lettuce and I'm playing with the idea of tomatoes, too.

It's time for a nap.

I think I'm going to turn on some jazz, grab a book and go to sleep this evening. The weather is back to moody gray and I feel like I have put in an entire day and then some. On days like this I need a 20 foot stone fireplace in my family room. Of course the family room needs to be a little bit bigger. :)
